Endemic to the Windward Islands in the Caribbean. A single population is recorded on each of Dominica, Martinique, St Lucia and Guadeloupe, where the exact locality of the species is unknown. The plant is classified as 'Endangered' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2011)[
