General Information

Piper caninum is an evergreen, slender-stemmed, vigorous climbing plant. The stems are capable of reaching up into the forest canopy but, where the light is sufficient, can also be found at ground level as a mass of branching foliage against a tree or scrambling over the ground to make a dense ground cover[
