Common Name:

General Information

Ocotea spixiana is an evergreen tree with a dense, elongate crown; it can grow 7 - 16 metres tall. The short bole is more or less cylindrical, 30 - 50cm in diameter[].
The tree is harvested from the wild for local use of its wood. It provides a good shade and can be used for rural tree planting in pastures[].
