General Information

Myrciaria cuspidata is a semideciduous shrub or small tree with a dense crown; it can grow 3 - 6 metres tall. The crooked bole, which usually branches from very low down, is 15 - 25cm in diameter[].
The tree is a source of fuel for the local population.

Cultivation Details

A plant of the subtropics to the tropics.
Grows best in a sunny position[]. Plants can tolerate occasional, short-lived inundation[].
Newly planted young trees are quite slow-growing[].

Edible Uses

Although no reports on edibility have been seen so far, the fruit is almost certainly edible[]. The fruit is an orange or black globose berry about 10mm in diameter[].

Propagation
