The root and stem barks are an effective larvicide against the mosquito Anopheles gambiae, giving 100% mortality within 3 days at a dose of 50 μg/ml of the extracts or concentrations of powders[. The powders are more effective than the methanol extract, and work by disrupting growth patterns of the larvae[
