General Information
Hildegardia barteri is a fast-growing, deciduous tree that can reach a height of 24 - 30 metres or more. The tree is buttressed, with a clear bole 9 - 12 metres or more tall and a girth of up to 3.5 metres.
The tree is harvested from the wild and used locally as a food and source of timber and fibre. It is also sometimes grown as a living fence.
