A decoction of the root, in combination with Plumbago sp, is swallowed as an abortifacient in the early months of pregnancy[]. In Sarawak, a decoction of the roots is drunk to treat diarrhoea and stomach-ache[].

A solution of boiled leaves or roots is used to bathe patients with skin diseases[].

The bark is used as a mosquito repellent[].
