The leaves are simple,entire,oval and purple presenting epidermis. The flowers are conspicuous, white and in cluster.
Common Names: joy weed, Joseph's coat, ruby leaf, metal weed, parrot leaf.
Flowers produce a lot of seeds which can stay dormant in the soil seed bank for a long time.
It is a perennial plant.
Because of its characteristics of surviving,spreading and displacing other flora in new environments, it is suggested to be invasive and possesses some allelochemicals which might be responsible for this
