Aiphanes linearis is an evergreen palm growing 4 - 12 metres tall. The plant produces a cluster of 5 - 15 unbranched stems around 12cm in diameter; each stem is densely covered with black spines that can be up to 35cm long; and is topped by a crown of 5 - 9 leaves[
