Acer laurifnum is an evergreen tree with a dense crown; it usually grows up to 40 metres tall, though specimens to 48 metres have been reported. The straight, cylindrical bole can be free of branches for up to 28 metres and up to 110cm in diameter, with buttresses up to 2 metres high[
